Located on the second-to-top floor of a building on Via Teulada in Rome, Casa Teulada is the result of a 127 sqm renovation project by Marzia Fiume Garelli – FiumeArchitecture, carried out in collaboration with the company MGE Vokaj srl.
The project was created for a family of four, who returned to the capital after years spent in London, and interprets a fluid, bright, and contemporary way of living.
The organization of the spaces revolves around a large open space, where the rigor of the layout is combined with careful material research. The continuous gray resin floor creates a uniform and minimal base, able to enhance natural light and highlight the selection of materials. On this neutral surface, design solutions are inserted that define an essential yet dynamic language.
It is in the bathrooms that the project most intensely expresses the dialogue between material, color, and light, thanks to the use of the Gleeze porcelain stoneware collection Gleeze by Ragno. The resin walls are dressed in a deep and earthy ochre yellow shade, creating a sophisticated contrast with the three-dimensional ceramic surfaces.
In the main bathroom, the Gleeze collection is used in the 5×15 cm format through a dynamic mix of Gleeze Turchese Glossy and the three-dimensional structure Gleeze Turchese Eye. The result is a vibrant composition, in which the turquoise interacts with the ochre resin, evoking aquatic atmospheres and marine depths. The surfaces come to life thanks to the three-dimensionality, which amplifies the perception of the space.
In the secondary bathroom, the project develops a more natural palette, playing on green tones. The 10×10 cm format alternates the smooth finish with the Gleeze Giada Egg structure, creating a balanced visual rhythm. The jade green, paired with the warm resin background, evokes organic sensations and natural spaces, returning an intimate and welcoming space.
A key element of the project is light: an integrated LED system from above grazes the ceramic surfaces, highlighting the three-dimensional geometries of the Eye and Egg structures. The grazing light generates a continuous play of reflections and shadows that transforms the walls into moving surfaces, able to change perception throughout the day.
Thanks to the combination of texture, color, and light rendering, the Gleeze collection by Ragno confirms itself as the protagonist in defining the identity of bathroom spaces, helping to create rooms with strong material and contemporary impact.
