Il Prisma Live, architecture firm Il Prisma’s new Milan location, is much more than just a workplace. It’s a creativity and sharing hub, designed to host ideas, discussions and teamwork. A continually evolving space, ready to support dialogue amongst colleagues, partners and visitors, where architecture becomes a means of cultural exploration and a design vision.
1100 square metres in size, Il Prisma Live is an experimental workshop that breaks down the boundaries of conventional spaces. Every room is designed to enable flexibility and adaptability and generate customisable, immersive experiences.
The greeting area is the setting for the initial interaction with visitors. Here, monitors of various sizes show the firm’s manifesto and the events schedule. This space serves as introduction to the Il Prisma world, providing a clear vision of the objectives and activities that drive the location throughout the year.
The Live Area is the real fulcrum: a completely flexible, multifunctional space conceived to host events of different kinds, from workshops to brainstorming sessions and from plenary meetings to cooking shows. Inspired by an industrial aesthetic, the area is designed around Innocenti tubular scaffolding, combined with movable and fitted furnishings – folding tables, poufs, terraces and various types of seats – to provide infinite combinations to meet the needs of the moment.
As well as the main hall, the Live Area also comprises additional dynamic areas. Five mobile steps conceal alcoves for brainstorming sessions, complete with writeable walls and monitors. This zone leads to the Serendipity Garden, a botanical garden that combines nature and well-being, designed to offer a relaxing, informal setting for work and socialisation. The refreshment area, dominated by an iconic bar counter, is an informal location perfect for meetings, brainstorming sessions and even events.
Like all parts of Il Prisma Live, the Bar corner can be reconfigured from informal meeting area to formal boardroom, thanks to the flexible design of its furnishings.
For the flooring of all areas, Il Prisma chose the porcelain stoneware of the Ragno Clayton collection, in 100×100 cm size and the pale Nude color. This product has a concrete-look texture perfect for both residential and commercial contexts. Thanks to the 3D Ink technology, Clayton’s surfaces are visually striking with a three-dimensional effect which bestows both depth and variety. What’s more, the StepWise technology provides a high degree of slip resistance combined with a surface that is still soft to the touch and easy to clean.
Il Prisma Live is not just a physical location but also a genuine ideas workshop, where architecture and innovation meet to generate new concepts and inspirations.
